Cost

Participation in the three-week ISSS costs Euro 900.-.

This fee INCLUDES:

  • Lecture programme comprising all modules (In total, you can choose from 182 contact hours and 14 credit points that are offered. Students typically earn six credit points.)
  • Certificates for all successfully passed modules
  • Accommodation for the period of the ISSS (Monday, 11 June, - Friday, 29 June); please, keep in your mind that arrival before Monday, 11 June, and departure after Friday, 29 June, are not possible due to limited accommodation in Schmalkalden
  • Cultural programme:

  • Schmalympics Opening Ceremony (Tuesday, 12 June)

  • Schmalympics sports events (12-14 June)

  • Open-air concert on campus (Tuesday, 12 June)

  • Disco Party on campus (Wednesday, 13 June)

  • Open-air concert on campus (Thursday, 14 June)

  • Schmalympics Closing Ceremony (Thursday, 14 June)

  • Fireworks on campus (Thursday, 14 June)

  • Tour of Schmalkalden (Friday, 15 June)

  • Graduation Ceremony in a medieval castle, including barbecue and beverages (Friday, 15 June)

  • Disco Party in the Students' Club (Friday, 15 June)

  • Full-day tour to Erfurt (Thuringia's capital) and Weimar ("European Cultural Capital" in 1999) , optional: Wartburg Castle (Martin Luther's former living place), visit of several UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Sunday, 17 June)

  • Midnight-Sun Lecture, including one hot "Midnight-Sun Pizza" (20 - 21 June)

  • transport to and from Berlin plus accommodation in Berlin during the 3-day Berlin and Potsdam trip (22 - 24 June)


Accommodation

You will be accommodated in the university's dormitory or with students / local families or in guesthouses (multi-bed rooms). In Berlin you stay in a hostel.


Conditions of Admission

  • You are a student of Economics or Business Administration with at least a basic knowledge of International Economics.

  • You are able to understand and actively participate in lectures in English.
  • Please contact the international office of your home university, the international office should mail the list of applicants to isss(at)fh-sm.de and in copy to r.richert(at)fh-sm.de
  • For Magellan universities only: Please, send the list of applicants to the Magellan office until 29 February 2012.

  • The participation fee of Euro 900,- should be transferred in full by 31 March 2012 to the following bank account:
