The Foreign Language Centre is a central institution offering language courses for different programmes and differentiating between compulsory and facultative language courses. Learning a foreign language increases the chances of graduates of the University of Applied Sciences Schmalkalden on the market and is a significant prerequisite for stays abroad during their studies. The employees at the Foreign Language Centre assist students, especially with the application formalities. The Foreign Language Centre is a member of the Arbeitskreis der Sprachenzentren, Sprachlehrinstitute und Fremdspracheninstitute (AKS) (Association of University Language Centres).
