Since summer semester 2009 the students of the University of Applied Sciences Schmalkalden are offered a multifunctional thoska electronic chip card (Thuringian University and Students' Union Card).
It is an official though not compulsory student ID that is supposed to replace paper-based ID system. The card is given free of charge.

To apply for a thoska-card a student has to fill in the application form and to attach an up-to-date coloured passport photo (use glue, do not staple). To download an application form visit our Download page.
A student has to come personally to pick up his/her card.
